Description

PlGF-2 is an angiogenic factor that belongs to the cysteine-knot superfamily of growth factors.  PlGF-2 is expressed in umbilical vein endothelial cells and placenta.  It signals through the VEGFR-1/FLT1 receptor, and stimulates endothelial cell proliferation and migration.  PlGF-2 also signals through Neuropilin (NP-1), and can bind with high affinity to heparin. Recombinant Human PlGF-2 is a 34.6 kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric protein of two 152 amino acid polypeptide chains.

0.1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH 7.4, with 0.02 % Tween-20.

Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤ -20°C. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
